In the lands of Hollow Hearts, equines thrive, for it is a place of peace and prosperity. The skies are blue, the grass is green, and live is good. It wasn't always like this though; centuries ago war was so common that going even a day without fighting was unnerving. It was terrible, innocent foals were born into a world of hate, the blood of their mothers and fathers was shed over and over. Finally, it got to the point that everyone was so echausted, no one wanted to fight anymore, ever again. So a monarchy was instated, so as to avoid this horror forever. Since then, a king and queen have ruled together, watching over Hollow Hearts. If one or the other needs to step down or is dying, an new equine is voted upon to take their place as king or queen. For over five centuries, life has been better than one could ever imagine.
But now there is a new threat to Hollow Hearts; the only living descendant of Hikos, a stallion who opposed the instation of a monarchy so many decades ago, has risen from her ancestors ashes. Hikos and his supporters had been banished from Hollow Hearts for encouraging the wars, but now, a young mare, Morgra, has returned, intending on destroying Hollow Hearts once and for all. She is hiding away on the outskirts of Hollow Hearts, plotting her war and gathering followers from the outside... and inside. She is kidnapping newborn foals and teaching them to hate the Heart Equines. The King has ordered Morgra be caught, dead or alive, and her followers banished, but one mare, the mother of a colt taken two years ago, is desperate to get him back. Her mate had been slaughtered trying to defend his son, and Jessica is all alone, and determined to save her son and every other Heart Foal stolen from the mares of Hollow Hearts.
