Owner's Name : Aiyana "Kimi" Alsoomse
Show Name : Aponi
Stable Name : Aponi
Age : 5 years
Gender: Female, A mare.
Years of training : Indefinite
Breed : American Paint Horse
Coloring : Tovero-- She has irregular, scattered splashes of bay and chestnut ovals covering her body, with the exception of her dark legs and chestnut back--No white is upon her back, ears, whithers, or legs. Her head markings are those of a solid--Merely a star and a snip. Her eyes are "Glassy" or blue. Her main and tail are bicolored, having both white and brown hairs.
Disciplines : Hunter-Jumper, Trail Riding.
Personality: Aponi has a sense of humor matched by few other horses. From general silliness while tacking to nudging those in front of her, her antics have kept her riders either on their toes or on their backs. She doesn't care to be ridden by riders other than Kimi, but if shown that the rider is no pushover, she'll tolerate them. She herself is no push-button horse, and has intelligence to back up her determination. Mischievous and sly, he takes different approaches with attitude. To receive her full cooperation and teamwork, one must earn her trust and bond, slowly and consistently over time. She seems to laugh, curling her lips and shaking her mane in a mocking way whenever someone does something embarrassing or stupid.
Aponi is a highly curious, highly energetic horse. She loves to be outdoors, and dislikes stalls. She seems to realize, with a happy-go-figure attitude, that she is as funny-lookin' as we are. Open spaces prompt her to run and "fly," as woods and mountains bring out her more curious side. With a level head, she won't go anywhere she deems unsafe, and steady feet guide her wherever the team may go.
History: As with Kimi, her history is a mystery. But unlike Kimi's history, Aponi's is more readily talked about. It was a gift to Kimi by Grandmother Chepi while Aponi was being carried by Grandmother Chepi's mare, Nitta. (Nitta's full name was Nittawosew.) Both birth and foal were normal and relatively uneventful, and Kimi and Aponi continued to grow and bond together. Their personalities aren't a perfect match, nor are they opposites, but they love each other. Aponi developed from a tiny weanling to a strapping, proportionate, funny-looking horse.
