Ryan pushed back his hair, entering the warm restaurant. Atmosphere thrived here, and he laughed as a young Italian waitress took his coat, smiling. This place was perfect. Quiet enough to give that first date atmosphere, but loud enough to make sure the evening was not uncomfortable. Ryan looked back to see where Resa was, and took her hand, waiting for her. A few men walked past, looking Resa up and down, and Ryan punched one of them on the arm playfully. Yes, Ryan was a regular here.
He shifted slightly, from foot to foot. This was odd really, because, however romantic the atmosphere, this wasn't acctually a date. He had to keep that in mind. However much he liked Resa, this was just a meal, right? He looked her in the eyes, smiling, gesturing to a cute little table by a large plant pot. It was wooden, with a red checkered table cloth and a lovely feeling to it.
Two menus lay there, and Ryan smiled, waiting or the evening to begin...

Resa gladly followed Ryan into the warm of the Italian restaurant. She had put on a long sweater that came to her knees while in the car, and hugged it a little closer, trying to keep as much warmth in as possible. She accepted Ryan's hand when he reached for her, and followed him to a table in the corner.
Resa glanced around the restaurant, taking in the people. Ryan knew them, she had seen. Resa's grey eyes snapped back to Ryan once she'd had her fill of watching.
So what plans did you have for today before I came along?

Ryan took a seat and smiled as Resa spoke. He thought carefully, realizing that nothing he'd wanted to do would have been better than sitting in that exact spot, with her. But he smiled warmly, and answered truthfully, going through the events he had planned.
Go to the bookstore.
Find my best friend Davi, and his fiance.
Be bored.
He laughed, noticing how awfully boring he sounded. But with a flick of his hair and a cute smile, he managed to turn the conversation quickly to Resa.
You?

Resa nodded as he spoke,a nd she filed the information about Davi away under Ryan's name in her mind. She was about to respond to his question when a waitress approached and asked for their drink orders. Resa told her choice, which was water, no lemon, and turned back to Ryan to answer his question.
I probably wouldv'e gotten some training in with one of my horses. And Flame needs to be taken to the vet pretty soon, so I might have gotten that done. She's a mountain lion, so it should be big fun trying to get her inside the clinic.

Ryan smiled at the waitress, and ordered a Gin and Tonic. Yes, Ryan drank strangely. He looked back to Resa and smiled as she spoke. A mountain lion? That was certainly odd. Then he realized he may be able to help.
My sister is a vet. She specializes in big animals. Ill give you her number. Her names Anna, Clark, like me. Duh.
Ryan stumbled over his words, blushing slightly, sitting back, kicking himself mentally. However, he focussed once more on resa, and leant back in, smiling slightly seductively, before taking his drink as the waitress returned.
[[ Oh yeah... Anna and Ryan are siblings. Should have told you that Bwahahaha ]]

Resa didn't bat an eye as Ryan ordered. If she weren't headed back out to barn, she might be having the same. She nodded as Ryan spoke, cocking an eyebrow in slight surprise. The waitress interupted them as she sat their drinks down, but Resa bent forward again as she left and took a sip of her drink.
Umm, yeah. I know Anna. Didn't know she was your sister, though.
Resa and Anna, truth be told, were currently at odds, what with Aemie and all. This of course, couldn't be discussed with Ryan for obvious reasons. Actually, though, she might like Ryan more than Aemie. However, since Anna had made a competition of liking Aemie, Resa wasn't so willing to give him to her. Push her one way and she goes the other.

Ryan laughed as Resa responded. He took a slow sip of his drink, wincing slightly. It was heavy on the gin. But for now, he realized the waitress was waiting, and ordered a mushroom pasta dish.
That didn't sound so positive
He commented, hearing Resa talk of his sister. He looked into her eyes, winking cheekily and chuckling. He had problems with Anan himself. He smiled warmly at Resa, and continued.
She can be very competitive, right?
And it was true. Anna always had to win. It was a clear fault in her persona, but made sure she had pushed herself into becoming an amazing vet. And Ryan couldn't help but admire her greatly. However, Ryan could now think of nothing but Resa. She was just so beautiful. It was literally breathtaking. And he couldn't quite believe she was actually sitting here...with him of all people.

((Please check your PM's when you can, and the joining board for horses.))
Resa noticed Ryan wince as he took a sip of his drink, but brushed it out of her mind to notice the waitress ahd rearrived. Perhaps Ryan didn't notice her so much, but that might be hard. The waitress, who was probably about 19, was smiling enough to blind someone and batting her eyelashes so hard and so fast Resa was afraid she might pull a muscle.
It took a lot for Resa not to choke with laughter on the sip she'd just taken. She cleared her throat and ordered chicken parmesan, slightly taken aback by the dirty look she was given by the waitress. She smirked as the girl stalked off and turned back to Ryan, processinghis questions so she could respond.
People who didn't know Resa well would say she was competitive, just as much so as Anna. But that wasn't it, really. Resa was content not to be first, to let someone else lead her. However, when someone made a show of being in charge of her, it did nothing less than piss her off and make her want to kick their ass. That was when determination set in and she wanted to kick them off their pedastal. Resa didn't get mad often, but God help you if it was your fault she was mad...
I guess you could say that...

Ryan smiled back at the waitress, a grin on his face. He looked half intimidated, half pitiful. But he waited till she left, to whisper over to Resa.
Shes trying way to hard. I mean, I know I'm good looking but...
He waited for a moment, wanting to see Resa's next expression. After a few seconds, he burst into laughter, smiling warmly at her.
I joke, I joke.
He then looked over to the waitress, wondering how long the mel would take. He'd rather talk to Resa uninterrupted. But it was hard to think of what to say next. How to be tactful, without basically asking her out. No, he had to go with subtlety. So he took a slow intake of breath, and lent forward.
So, you've got a boyfriend, I guess?
Damn. That was anything but subtle. Ryan sighed, half laughing as he took a piece of bread from a nearby basket, taking a bite slowly. He never had quite got the hang of asking someone out. It was so much easier in that single myspace message.

Resa leanded in slightly as Ryan spoke to her about the waitress, and she added to his statement. You'd be right about the trying to hard. I mean really, if I could get you to come out with me, who knows what other trash you bring around... Resa shifted her eyebrows in a playfully suggestive manner before sitting back in her chair and taking another sip of her water.
Resa watched Ryan's expression and saw he was thinking over something. She could ask, or she could be quiet. First of all, you're crazy. Second, he'll know you're crazy if you ask him soemthing like that out of the-- Oh. Resa thoughts came a crashing halt as Ryan spoke again. A sirk descended upon her lips as she shook her head lightly and crossed her arms over her chest, shifting her sweater slightly. She spoke with a slight laugh in her voice as she met his eyes. Nope, I'm single at the moment. Very single..

Ryan laughed as she commented, then lent in to hear her reactions to his questions. A twinkle in his eye, he waited on her answer. She appeared at first in her own world, but soon, she replied. Single? How odd. This was surely a good thing, and Ryan closed his eyes for a moment, before smiling warmly and speaking once more. Another question.
Resa, would you... like to go out with me?
Oh god. It was far to obvious. And, if she said no now, he'd be completely embarrassed. He swore mentally, but outside he kept a brave face. He was silent, anxious and somehow still smiling that same handsome smile. This was not perhaps, the most romantic setting. He was stumbling over his sentences, and that waitress was still eying him. Ah well, here we go...

Resa had pretty much figured what was coming. Not that she didn't welcome it with open arms. She'll tak 'em like they come, awkward or not. She nodded first in reply before speaking.
I don't see why not. Now where's--
Just as Resa about to finish her sentence a different waiter appeared carrying their food, followed by the waitress, who appearently was fairly new. He set it down in front of them and stepped away, adn both staff members returned to the kitchen to collect another order. Resa picked up ehr fork and folded her napkin into her lap before she started eating, glancing to Ryan to see if he was going to say anything.

Ryan chuckled as she spoke. It was odd.She answered quickly, as if really it was nothing. But it seemed she had answered, so he leant in, whispering.
I take it thats a yes...
And lets hope it was. Ryan pushed back his hair, beginning to tuck into his pasta dish. The pasta curled around his fork, and he smiled over at Resa a few times, bu mainly, they ate in silence. Finally, Ryan had finished, and lent back, warm and tired from the day.

Resa said nothing in response to Ryan. Only her familiar sly smile was on her face as she finished her dinner and sat back in her chair, her eyes flicking p to Ryan again.
Are you ready to go?
Resa raised an eyebrow in question, glancing around the restuarant as she waited for his answer. She hoped it would be a little bit warmer when they went outside. She crossed her arms over her chest and began to hum a slow song as she looked down at her lap.

Ryan smirked as she smiled back at him, riding before she spoke. But once she did, he nodded. Pushing back his hair, he pulled on his coat, and reached for Resa's, handing it to her. He called over the waitress and waiter, handing over a few notes and a tip.
Where to?
He asked Resa. His voice was soft, almost a whisper, but he stood back, waiting for her to answer. His house? Hers? Their separate ways? Each woudl be interesting, but Ryan knew that they woudl say something about how the evening had gone. He, however, had enjoyed it. Good food, lively atmosphere, great conversations and a beautiful woman. It was perfect. Right?
