Sitting down, the six foot man looked around. He knew he was supposed to meet his old friend here, but he was about thirty minutes early. His short black hair was spiked and his casual blue-jeans and plaid (tucked in) shirt was being warn. He never had the heart to be late, and so he almost always ended up early to places.
Sighing, he ordered a Sweet Tea, and began to look around. The italian resteraunt wasn't all that expensive, about ten dollars at a maximum, and it was a pretty good place to meet his old crush. He didn't know if his old 'butterflies-tummy' feeling was still there for her, but it was most likely. He was a dashing man, not bad looking himself, but when they were younger, he had confessed to Sedona his feelings...The two never spoke about it, and her certaintly was happy he was meeting her again.

Sedona had dressed up for the occasion; why not, really? It felt good to change out of the norm for a while. She did, however, arrive in her pickup truck singing Summertime by Sam Cook. She turned off the ignition and stepped onto the concrete, bypassing the runners. She wore black ankle boots and a white and black dress with a black robe-like crocheted sweater over it that came down to her calves.
Sedona moved intot he restuarant, her eyes searching the tables until she found who she was looking for. To tell the truth, he didn't look so much different than he ahd before. A soft smile came to her lips as she moved forward in a brisk walk and sat herself confidently down in front of him.
Sedona's blue eyes met the man's and then searched his face. Not so different at all. She sat her purse beside her chair. As she sat for a moment, memories washed over her and her hand rose to play with the end of ehr braid, and then the wooden heart that hung from a brown leather cord around her neck. The pendant hung at the base of her neck, and she could feel the vibrations from her voice in her fingers as she spoke. She had always called him Zach; one of the few to do so. It's been a while, huh?

The sound of a pick-up truck came to his ears. It wasn't umcommon, but it sounded of the exsact person he was looking for. Awestruck by how beautiful she looked, he tried to reply. Too long. He said, choking on his words as he looked at him. Taking a deep, breath he tried to speak right.
You look beautiful tonight. he said, and looked at the pendant. Everything about the girl was stunning. From head to toe she was the only person he wanted t look at on earth. What have you been doing lately? he asked, and looked around. He wasn't going to reply to his own question, for he knew it would be rude. He was trying to be on 'his best behavior' tonight, as to make a good new impression on the girl.

Sedona smiled at his compliment. She listened ashe asked a question, and wondered why he looked around after he asked it. She mentally shrugged it off and opened her mouth to reply. I haven't been doing much. I own a stable, and I've got my horses and animals. And this one BLM mustang, his name's Simba. He's barely saddle-broken. Which reminds me, I want you to come out tomorrow to help a little with his training if you can.
Sedona's eyes shifted back to his, and she barely looked voer as a waiter approached. When he asked for her drink order, she gave it and he went away to get the drinks after he'd taken the other order. Her intense gaze stayed on Zach, although not specifically on his eyes. She was trying to remember everything she could about him.
Sedona's gaze finally returned to his eyes as the waiter returned with their drinks, setting a margarita in front of her. She took a small sip before setting the glass back down and clearing her throat to speak. And you? I hear you have something going with a farm, too.

Indeed. I own Fly Away Stables. Specilizing in troubled and abused horses and dogs. He stated. He was still the softie for animals, hating the fact that people could acually have the heart to abuse them. Sighing, he looked around, making eye contact with the waitor, and then back to the table.
Moments later, the waitor was over, pencil and pad in his hand. May I take you order, Sir. Ma`am? He inquired, a slight italian accent in his tone. Writing down Zach's order of Pasta he turned to Sedona. And you, Miss? He asked, as if he'd been waiting an eternity for a reply.
Zach's eyes grew wide as he spoke to Sedona. He was protective of his old friend. He was protective of anyone he knew. Muscles tensed, looking to Sedona as if wanting to tell the waitor. Giving a sigh, he relaxed gently and waited the waiting staff member.

Sedona nodded when Zach answered; she remembered his soft spot for the abused horses they'd seen. She knew he'd want to help her with Simba, once he met him and learned his past. With a slight start, Seonda remembered something fairly important.
Resa. Her mountain lion is having cubs, and the state wants them kept with humans since they're not going to be born wild. And-- Sedona let her thoughts trail off, putting a hand to her head to remember details. She shook her head ocne she'd gathered it all and returned her attention to Zach. Sorry, I just remembered. Then the waiter approached. She watched patiently as Zach ordered, and her look darkened slightly when the waiter rounded on her.
Sedona felt Zach tense, but as she looked over she saw him relax and she let her attention return to the waiter. Chicken parmesan. Dica al vostro responsabile che parlerò più successivamente lui. Ciao. After a moment of shocked awe, the waiter tossed a glare toward the woman and stalked off. A sly smirk tugged at the corners of Sedona's mouth as she took another sip of her drink and looked to Zach. So are you going to come out tonight and help me with my horse?

Hearing about the mountain lions, it was a slight bit of an off topic subject, but unnoticed it wasn't. He kept it in mind, for something to talk about later on. Giving a slight smile as the male stalked off, Zach chuckled a little. Still the same old Sedona.
Certaintly. Mind if I bring my mare? She won't be any trouble, and it would do her good to be with other horses. She hasn't been around anyone besides me in a while. he stated, catching her glare momentarily. How he rembered the older days. The days where he was going crazy over her.
Sighing, he wanted to know if she rembered the past to. Do you ever miss those times when we were neighbors? he asked in a hushed tone. He always let his booming voice transfer to a whisper while in public, for hearing other peoples conversation didn't flatter him.

Well, maybe we should all be granted the grace To know when to run And when to stay in one place
Sedona raised an eyebrow as Zach chuckled, and listened and nodded when he answered, glad he was comin. She wanted to see his mare, and she could use an extra pair of hands. Just keep tellin' yourself that.. Shut up.. I'm just saying-- I said shut up... Sedona mentally shook herself, trying to rid her mind of conflicting voices.
Sedona's eyes flicked up to Zach as she heard him sigh, but her slight worry was eased when he spoke. Well, most of her worry. She leaned forward forward slightly and offered a small, wistful smile. She remembered the days; but she could never stay in place for too long. It was a part of her, just like her stubbornness and the rest of her character; it was something she never apologized for.
Sometimes, I do miss it. It was a good time, and we had fun, huh? Sometimes I wonder why I left, but I guess the restlessness is just me...

The lake...The meadow. The best thing I rember is the fact that I always thought you were the only person in the world when I was with you.
He stated, giving a slight booming laugh. His deep voice wasn't helping any as he spoke. He didn't know esactly how she felt about him, but they were good friends and to him it wasn't exsactly serious. As the food came out, Zach watched the waitor more intensly.
Using the fork, he took a bite of the Parmasan Pasta. Delicous. he told himself in a supprising tone and took another bit. Seeing as he was making himself a pig, he gave a slight cheesy smile and set the fork down as the waitor put Sedona's plate in front of her.

Sedona kept her expression from changing as Zach spoke of the time before. She simply watched him with her blue-grey eyes, noting all the details of that particular moment. As the waitor, who appearently had been ninja in some other life he had been quiet, set a plate in front of Zach, she took the small reprieve to blink slowly, keping her eyes closed a second longer than she needed to, blocking out her thoughts for a moment and revelling in the brief dead air in her mind.
Sedona opened her eyes again and leaned back as the waiter set her plate down and stalked off in a rather prissy way. She noticed Zach ahd paused in his obviously wanted dining experience, and she waved him off.
Don't let me slow you down... Sedona looked to his plate and then to her own before picking up her and starting into the chicken parmesan. When they were both done she crossed ehr arms and sat back in her chair, looking up o Zach. Well, alright, are you ready to go?

"Sure. Ill follow you there." he stated, and left a twenty on the table. It was about five dollars over the amount due, but he always tiped in the middle. Steping out of his chair, he offered a hand to Sedona to help her up. He felt like he'd blow his first dinner with the old friend from her last comment, and gave a rather hateful thought to himself.
[Sorry so short]

((Could you post first?))
Sedona nodded and removed her napkin from her lap. She smiled as Zach came around and she took his hand and rose from the chair. She grabbed her coat and slipped into it and moved to the door, pausing before going out into the cold.
We're headed to Heartlake Stables, so you know. I'm staying there with Resa; there's some building going on at my barn, so I'm there until it's done. Go ahead in the barn, I'll have to change before I meet you there.
Sedona then pushed the door open and headed to her truck, unlocking it and sliding into the driver's seat. She slid the key into the ignition and gave the engine a chance to warm up before shifting gears and pulling out of the parking lot. She was surprised it was so light out until she looked to her watch and saw it was only 5:30.
